Making Mixes-Assembly Line Style

Today is Kitchen Tip Tuesday over at Tammy's Recipes! Here is my tip... I often make up homemade mixes. It saves money. We avoid preservatives. Mixes save time. So when I get ready to make up several bags I set everything out "assembly line" style. I grab a quart freezer bag and scoop each ingredient into the bag. In the picture below, I made up several pancake and waffle mixes. Using a dry erase marker I make a note on the bag reminding me what perishables I need to add. Then I place the mix in the grapevine basket, which sits in a far corner on my counter top.
I can make up several bags in a matter of minutes. I have done this for rice mix, hamburger helper style meals, bread machine dough, cookie mix and more!

Nice! What are you favorite mixes?
I am planning ahead for filling my pantry back up next month. I have a make a mix book but I am not sure what I want to include yet.

I have never thought to do this for pancakes or waffles. Why?

So, do you have any favorite recipes for rice mixes or hamburger helper type mixes? I would love to try them.
