Easy Kitchen Cleanup

I love to cook, bake and create. I truly dislike cleaning up! If I'm cooking several things at once I try to clean as I go. I keep a spray bottle with 1-2 tbsp dish soap to 24 ounces water on the counter. Anything with stuck on gunk gets a good spray (bowls with dried bread dough are the worst!). Then when I'm ready to get everything washed up, the gunk is easy to just wash away. No waiting for things to soak. I usually give my counter tops a spray while I'm washing the dishes and then they are easy to just wipe and go. This soap water is also great for dirty little hands.

If it is going to be a while before I can wash the dishes I stack them in the sink giving a little spray as I go and then I give everything a little sprinkle of baking soda. The baking soda seems to absorb the spray and keep everything soft for a longer period of time. Again, no waiting for everything dried to soak before I can wash them. As an added bonus the baking soda will make your hands feel nice and soft! Be sure to visit Tammy's Recipes for more great tips!

I clean as I go in the kitchen and soak dishes, pots and pans, too. BUT I never thought of getting a spray bottle for those messes on the countertops. What a great idea! Thanks!

What a great tip. We also do not have a dishwasher and sometimes we just can't get to the dishes right away. This is a great idea. Thanks.
