My kids often enjoy cheese slices or cheese sticks for a quick snack or in their lunch box. However, slicing a block of cheese is not usually my idea of fun. One day I opened my gadget drawer to grab my egg slicer and remembered I had purchased these... a french fry cutter(grids) and a butter slicer(long narrow) at a yard sale for a dime each. In a light bulb moment I knew these would be perfect to slice cheese!
It is quite simple to line up a block of cheese and simply push down through it.
I get perfect sticks or slices each time and of course these can be cut down to cubes or cracker size slices easily!
I'm not sure how available these two items are, but it would be worth asking around or checking out your local thrift stores or yard sales! Be sure to visit Tammy's Recipes for other kitchen tips!

Great idea! And much much cheaper than buying the little squares of cheese in the bag.
Cool Tip!! My french fry cutter is just sitting in my drawer cause I can't seem to get the hang of cutting potatoes with it. I might just need to get out it to do some cheese sticks.
I am SO finding these on my next thrift store hunts!
Thanks!

What neat idea!! :)
What a great tip... and the photos were helpful to me, since I wouldn't have known exactly what a butter slicer or french fry cutter were! :)
